I have a mac pro and would like to upgrade the video card and ram space what are my upgrade limits?

i have a mac system it runs quad core 2.66ghz/s it is your normal quad core system with a 256mb video card. now what i am wondering is what the highest card i can upgrade to would be? i have seen many 1gb's and 2 gbs and also plain 512s that sound amazing, i just want to get the best picture possible without performance loss, also my ram is at 2gb on the ddr2 system, i want to upgrade this also is there any other specs i need to watch out with upgrading this? it has 500gb storage, but i will likely put in a few more hard drives as well, i dont see any issues there though, just stating more specs any ?s ask, but please answer in assumption it is the base unit as you will likely not revise your answer due to the answering of your ? thanks|||Best bet is the Radeon 5770 which you can get this from Apple. Ignore what they say about it not being supported, it works fine. It is $249.

The Radeon 5870 will also work ($449 from Apple) and is the most powerful card that runs under OS X.

For memory you want to buy DDR2 667MHz FB-DIMMs. If you buy from somewhere like OWC, Transintl or Crucial you can't really go wrong. You can use any standard hard drives with your system.
