Best Specifications for Apple Mac for professional video editing?

Hello,

I am starting up a business editing wedding, music and corporate videos.

I am saving to buy an apple mac and was hoping someone could tell me the best spec to aim for (RAM, memory size, video card etc...) so final cut, after effects and photoshop all run extremely fast and the monitor gives a high quality display?|||It really depends on your budget. You'll likely want to go with an iMac ($1199 and up) or a Mac Pro (if money is no object, starts at $2500US without monitor). The more you spend the better things will run and the longer the computer will be useful.

Processor: quad core is better if you do a lot of rendering, to get it you'll need to go from the $1699 model to the $1999 one but you'll also get a significant video card upgrade at the same time

RAM: 4Gb is the best bang for the buck currently (another $200US gets you 8Gb though)

Hard drive: 1Tb isn't bad ($250US more gets you 2Tb which might be worth it if you have a lot of video)

monitor: it's built-in, the $1999 model has a 27" display /w LED backlit IPS panel, very good quality as is the 21.5" display on the cheaper models
